Snorkeling Olympic Style
Hangover.
Eric, Vilma, and Kenny drove motorbikes to the Chocolate Hills while I stayed around Alona Beach and worked. Felt really lazy today. While passing by Coco Vida, I sat down and chatted with Yoeri and Barbara mainly about my crazy annoying landlord. They agreed with me on how odd and illogical she is.
There wasn’t much to do at Genesis but I hung out there and wait for customers. I got a lot of mosquito bites while there which was discouraging because I thought I was finally immune to them. I was sick of sitting around so I got my fins, mask, and snorkel and snorkeled out far to a buoy. I love being in the water, and need to take advantage of where I’m at—beautiful white sand beach with warm water. Surprisingly, on my way to the buoy, I saw a small moray eel in only a meter deep water. Cool.
At night Kenny, Eric, Vilma, Veronica, Susan, and I all met up at Oops to watch the Olympics opening ceremony. I had zero interest in watching it. After Oops, at around 11 PM, Kenny, Eric, Vilma and I set of to go to a disco club—Laser—in Tagbilaran. Sander was going to join us but didn’t. We hired a van to take us out to the city because we didn’t want to worry about drinking and driving back late.
The disco was better than I thought it would be. Fairly good music, lots of locals dancing around, and it was cheap to get in. We stayed out dancing late into the night and then took our van back to Alona Beach.
