Some people have the "half empty" type of attitude. I'm more the "all empty" type when it comes to Tanduay rum.
Since I couldn’t get my visa extended in Tagbilaran because the Immigration office was closed, I had to do it in Boracay. Kenny and I walked to an area in Boracay called D*Mall where we found a nice little modern market with a meat department. It was the cleanest market I’ve seen here in the Philippines.
Unfortunately, a majority of Boracay's beautiful white beach is occluded by ugly fences to reduce wind, rain and to shade the annoying vendors.
Extending my visa for another two months was fairly painless. The air conditioned room was the best part of the experience. The officer helping me wasn’t very nice and had the sense of humor equivalent to a brick. After the Immigration office Kenny and I met up with Eric and Vilma to eat lunch at a Korean restaurant. The bimbimbop wasn’t as good as another Korean restaurant in Tagbilaran.
The rest of the afternoon I spent with Kenny looking for a good free wireless Internet spot. It was a chore and we had to settle for just using some Internet cafe. I wanted to use my laptop because I needed to upload photos for my blog.
We met up with Veronica and Susan later in the day and saw that Veronica got her lower lip pierced and Susan got the bridge of her nose pierced. Susan decided to let the two piercings in her nose she got the day before seal up; what a waste, all that pain for nothing. Well, I guess you learn a lesson or two. In addition to the piercings, Susan got two tattoos on her wrists.
The evening was quite uneventful because it rained a lot. We ate dinner at Yellow Cab Pizza which is a chain restaurant. The 18 inch pizza was enough to satisfy Eric, Vilma, Kenny, and I. Back at my room, I passed out by 9 PM.
