I slept better than I thought I would in the overnight ferry. In fact, I was quite happy we took the ferry because we didn’t need to find a place to stay in Tagbilaran. The ferry arrived in Cebu at 3 AM but we were able to stay onboard until 6 AM.
Boracay beah is a nice fine white sand beach with vibrant turquoise color water. It looks like uh, a postcard.
Eric, Vilma, Kenny and I planned on going to the airport and booking a flight to Boracay island. We took a 10 AM flight to Boracay and once there found a room at La Isla Bonita for 700 pesos/night total. I shared a room with Kenny while Eric and Vilma had their own. It was nice being in an air conditioned room. I found out about La Isla Bonita because Veronica and Susan, who went to Boracay ahead of us, said they are staying there.
We all had lunch on the beach with Veronica and Susan. Susan had an appointment to get her nose pierced in the afternoon and we all went with her to watch. It was painful to watch the piercing as the man stuck a needle through her nose and then seeing Susan cringe and scream. After the first piercing, Susan wasn’t happy with the position of the ring and had to get it done again in a slightly different location. This was even more painful than the first and bloodier.
In the evening Kenny and I hung out at our room with a Red Horse beer and some rum and Cokes. Veronica and Susan joined us and we managed to finish off a full liter of rum and Coke. For dinner we ate at a small vender stand on the beach that had the worst spaghetti I’ve had—it was pre-made that was just reheated in a small oven. For the rest of the night, we just walked around the beach, got a few more drinks, Kenny ate a balut, finished off another bottle of rum, and eventually swam in the sea sometime after midnight. Good times.
