I woke up around 8 AM and slowly got ready because I had a late night last night. I took a short cab ride with Rob and Suzette into work. It’s weird to talk about going into work because I haven’t had a consistent full time job for about 6 months.
A Bo's cappuccino. It was good. I don't remember the last time I had really good coffee. And no, there is no good instant coffee.
For lunch I went with Suzette to the Ayala shopping mall which is quite nice and modern. We ate at a Persian restaurant which was decent. Afterwards, we dropped by a Bo’s Coffee Club which is a chain of coffee shops of Filipino origin similar to Starbucks but way better. Some of you who know me regarding coffee and Starbucks are probably thinking: “Oh boy, here he goes again!”
Being a chain, I was pleasantly surprised that the people who worked at Bo’s cared about the quality and presentation of the coffee they were making. Foam was nice and dense, espresso flavor was decent, and my barista even attempted to make latte art on my cappuccino. Also, the barista’s technique for extracting the espresso was fairly good, but not perfect—he didn’t tamp the grinds hard enough and so extraction was a little too quick. I digress.
I ate dinner with Rob, Mike, and Suzette at the Wineshop. There was live music where the Vice-Mayor of Cebu, Mike Ramos, sang a few songs. To be honest, he was a horrible singer, regardless, everyone—including me—applauded him afterwards and even asked him to sing more. The night was fun because a lot of other people were drunk having a good time. One drunk lady danced with Suzette and a really drunk guy kept flittering and trying to dance with her. Of course, Mike and I provoked him a little.
After hanging at the Wineshop, we all went back to work to work late into the night—I left by 3:30 AM.
