Powerless Midgets
It rained all day which kinda sucked. On top of that, power was out along the beach in order to save electricity. In the morning, I desperately wanted a nice strong coffee but couldn’t get any because the power was out. Veronica, Susan, Kenny and I ate crepes at a small restaurant along the beach. I had a mango crepe which was better than I thought it would be.
Because none of us wanted to hang out on the beach in the rain, Kenny and I went back to our room. There I wrote tried catching up with my journal and when I got sick of doing that I watched a BBC film called Deep Blue. Seeing life in the ocean made me crave going diving again. I wanted to get out of the room now.
We got a hold of Eric and Vilma and we all went out to walk around the beach. The others needed to looking into booking some flights to other places so we went to a tourist center. Afterwards, Kenny and I walked over to a bar called the Hobbit House. I was told this bar is set up like a Hobbit’s house based on the Lord Of the Rings and all the waiters are midgets. To be honest, I wasn’t too impressed by the bar as I only saw one midget; I think we went to the bar too early.
Just across the Hobbit House, Kenny, Eric and Vilma and I ate dinner at a burger place called “Bite Club”. There, I ate a half pound burger and fries. It was good especially for being out here in Philippines. While eating, the others mention that they prefer “cities” rather than beaches or mountains. I thought they wanted to come out here to be on nice white sand beaches and away from the city! I hate cities, especially Manila, and haven’t heard anything good about Cebu. I begin to feel that they haven’t enjoyed their trip. I wish they told me they preferred cities beforehand.
Back at my room, Kenny watches a movie—Suicide Circle—with Vilma and I. I try to stay awake but fall asleep watching the movie; that’s normal for me though. Kenny takes a nap after the movie because we planned on going out to a bar or something later in the night. His nap turns into sleep and I fall asleep too. We never made it out to the bars that night.
