Vacationing with wine

Sunset just before we descended on our night dive

Today I decided to take a break from diving and to catch up on journaling, rest, and to check things on the internet. I did this at Hayahay because they have free internet and I didn’t have to buy anything. It was convenient because there was a table right next to a power outlet I could plug my laptop into and I was near where the waitresses hung out to chat with. I stayed at Hayahay for about 4 hours and even ate a pizza with a mango shake there.

At 4 pm, Yoeri scheduled to show his video to us of our dive at Napaling. I was eager to see his video because it was such a beautiful dive. The video was a bit disappointing because there was too much footage of things not related to our dive and there were a lot of cheesy effects. It was a little boring to watch and the only entertaining thing about it was the music. At the end of the viewing, nobody bought the video which was priced at $75 USD; I felt bad because there was a dead uncomfortable silence when he asked if anyone was interested in it.

After the video, Rene, Patrick, Jana, Ramona and I did a night dive which was okay. We did get to see some pipefish and strange behavior from a butterfly fish that would swim next to and follow Rene’s camera. After the dive, we all cleaned up and decided to eat a nice dinner at the local Cucina Italiana which is one of the best restaurants around.

As usual, they didn’t have a table available so we had a beer at Hayahay. At the italian restaurant, I ate a lamb steak with mashed potatoes; it was great. Jana, Rene and I also had wine which I haven’t had for a long time. I fact, I wasn’t expecting to drink wine in the Philippines. We drank two Cabernet Sauvignon and one Merlot (mostly Rene). After dinner I hung out at Oops Bar! a little with Vilma and Charlene then I went to sleep.
